The Bridging

Cross a 3-foot gap

Alright, ready for this? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a marble run that can bridge at least 3 feet (about one meter) between two tables!
Psst… here’s a secret tip: LEGO bricks can be your awesome building buddies, but remember, they can’t be used as the actual bridge! And to make sure your bridge is rock solid, why not try adding some triangle carriers? They’re perfect for extra support!

A quick tip before you dive into this challenge:
You might want to take a peek at the Starterset operation manual first if you’d like to brush up on the different starter set components!

Here are the steps:

  • Gather straws, marbles, connectors, carriers, mounts and possibly more components.
  • Place the tables: Make sure the tables are approximately 3 feet (about 1 meter) apart. This will be the distance you need to bridge.
  • Design your track: Think about how you can make the marble roll from one table to the other. A triangle carrier can be a handy tool here!
  • Build & test the track.
  • Make sure there is still some “marble action” on both tables (so it’s not just a bare bridge).
  • Improve the track if necessary.
  • Celebrate your success after the challenge is completed.
